******* Melodies To Memories Jukebox Instructions *******
Melodies To Memories - http://www.melodiestomemories.com
***************************************************************
Thank you for your purchase of the Melodies To Memories (M2M) Jukebox. This jukebox music system is unique in SL in that you can choose your own music from a large and growing list of songs, and play them at will. No longer are you stuck listening to radio stations playing what they want! now you can design and listen to your own unique play list.
You will choose your songs from a list that is kept current at the following website: http://www.melodiestomemories.com/view.php.
The songs are listed by Title, Type, Genre, and Performer, and each song simply has a number assigned to it (called the songID#). All you have to do is tell the M2M jukebox which song, by number, you wish to hear. It's that simple. You can also create your own list of songs that the jukebox will play for you automatically. This is done by putting the song numbers in a note card (creating your personalized play list), and then telling the M2M jukebox to read from that play list.
The M2M jukebox listens to your commands on Channel 6. To issue a command, simply speak the command on channel 6 followed by any optional arguments as outlined below. For those who may be unfamiliar with how to speak on a particular channel, simply precede any spoken text with "/6 ". This sends your typed message out thru channel six (which is not heard by the general public), where the M2M jukebox is listening for your commands. For example, to play a particular song, you would issue the following command on the chat line:
/6 play 51.
This will tell the M2M jukebox that you want to play song number 51, "A Boy Named Sue", by Johnny Cash.
**********************************************************************************
STANDARD COMMANDS: usable by the owner of the M2M jukebox, and guests.
**********************************************************************************
These commands are used when the jukebox is in standard mode, and are available for guests to use.
1) "list" - Lets you start scrolling through the list of available songs.
Usage: "/6 list" (with no quotes)
Type this command on the chat line and you will be presented with a blue dialog box that contains a short list of songs. The songs are formatted as "SongID# | Song Name | Artist Name". If you see a song that you would like to hear, use the "Play" command (see #4 below) to request it. To see more songs, use the "Next" command shown below.
2) "next" - Continues the listing of songs started with the "List" command above.
Usage: "/6 next" (with no quotes)
Type this command line to view the next page of available songs. You may continue to use this command to view all the songs in the entire database, one page at a time.
3) "viewall" - Allows you to see all the songs available to you.
Usage: "/6 viewall" (with no quotes)
Scrolling through the ever increasing song list using the "Next" command may be a bit tedious. Using the "Viewall" command, you will be taken directly to our website where the entire list of songs can be easily seen, and even sorted, for a much simpler selection process. Once you have decided which song to listen to, use the "Play" command shown below.
4) "play" - Allows you to request and play a desired song. Also adds songs to the song queue.
Usage: "/6 play " (with no quotes)
Once you have determined the songID# of the song that you would like to hear, use this command to request and play it. Song requests are added to a queue as you enter them, so you do not have to wait for one song to finish before requesting the next song to play. However, the song queue is limited in size and may fill up. If the queue is full when you make your request, wait a few minutes and try again.
For example: /6 play 15. This will play songID# 15.
Please note that guests can only send the play command when the jukebox is in standard/general operation mode. If the owner has specified a play list or alternate mode of operation, guest requests are disabled.
5) "info" - Shows the information about a particular song
Usage: "/6 info " (with no quotes)
Our database holds additional information about the songs it contains. If you are listening to a song, or see one in a list that you would like more information on, use this command to display all the information we have about that song. As with the "Viewall" command, you will be taken to our web page and the specific song that you requested information on will be displayed for you.
For example: /6 info 25
6) "showqueue" - shows the list of songs in the queue waiting to be played.
Usage: "/6 showqueue" (with no quotes)
Each M2M jukebox keeps a queue of song requests. To view the songs in the queue at any time, use this command and you will be presented with a blue dialog box with the SongID#'s (and optionally the track length in seconds) of the songs in the queue waiting to be played.
7) "help" - to display this help file at any time.
Usage: "/6 help" (with no quotes)
Use this command to retrieve the latest version of this help file.
8) "status" - to retrieve a dialog box telling you what the jukebox thinks it is currently doing.
Usage: "/6 status" (with no quotes)
****************************************************************************************
ADMIN COMMANDS: - These commands can only be used by the M2M jukebox owner.
****************************************************************************************
When the owner issues these commands, general use by guests is disabled until the M2M jukebox is "reset" back to the standard mode.
1) "clearqueue" - Clears the song waiting queue.
Usage: "/6 clearqueue" (with no quotes)
This command will empty the song request queue, but will not stop playing the current song. The jukebox will continue accepting new requests after this command has been made.
2) "stop" - Puts the jukebox into Pause mode.
Usage: "/6 stop" (with no quotes)
This will stop the music that is currently playing and will put the jukebox into Pause mode. The jukebox accepts no new requests when in pause mode. This command does NOT clear the queue. To restart, use the Start command shown next.
3) "start" - Restarts the jukebox after being Paused with the "Stop" command.
Usage: "/6 start" (with no quotes)
Will start the jukebox at the next song waiting in the queue, and will start accepting requests again. This command is used to restart the jukebox after the "Stop" command (see above) has been used.
4) "skip" - Stops the current song and begins playing the next song in the queue, if any.
Usage: "/6 skip" (with no quotes)
"Skip" will immediately stop playing the current song and jump to the next one in the queue. If nothing is in the queue then it will simply stop playing the current song and await new requests. If the player has been Paused (with the "Stop" command) this will restart the player.
5) "adminhelp" - Get help :)
6) "plist" - Loads and plays a list of songs sequentially from a note card that you create (a Play List).
Usage: "/6 plist " (with no quotes)
The "Plist" command takes one argument, which is the note card number of the play list that you want to play. To use this feature you will want to either edit one of the play list note cards named "Playlist1" or "Playlist2" in your jukebox, or create your own new play list by placing a note card into the jukebox named "Playlist#" (for example: "Playlist3"). The note card must contain one songID# per line. You can include as many lines for songID#'s as you like.
The first line of the note card is always skipped so that you can add a description of the music. Please refer to the note cards that came with your jukebox for an example of the format.
IMPORTANT: The note card name must NOT contain a space between the word "Playlist" and the number. The command itself DOES require a space before the numeric identifier.
The songs will be played sequentially from the second line of the note card through the last line, and then it will repeat back at the beginning of the card.
To Stop playing the songs on a play list, give the command "/6 Reset" (see below).
Examples:
"/6 plist 1" - This will play the "Playlist1" note card that came with your jukebox
"/6 plist 6" - This will look for a note card that you created and added to your jukebox named "Playlist6"
7) "plistr" - Loads and plays a list of songs Randomly from a note card that you create (a Play List).
Usage: "/6 plistr " (with no quotes)
This command is used exactly like the "Plist" command (shown above). The only difference is that it will randomly select the songs from the lines in the note card instead of playing them sequentially.
Examples:
"/6 plistr 2" - Randomly select songs from the "Playlist2" note card included with your jukebox. (This notecard name is case sensitive! It must be named exactly "Playlist2" for this example)
"/6 plistr 8" - Looks for a note card named "Playlist8" and randomly plays the songs listed. (This notecard name is case sensitive! It must be named exactly "Playlist8" for this example)
8) "playall" - Continuously and randomly plays the songs contained in our database.
Usage: "/6 playall" (with no quotes)
9) "reset" - Stops all music resets the jukebox to standard usage mode.
Usage: "/6 reset" (with no quotes)
Stops the current song, resets the song queue, and returns the M2M player to the standard guest usage mode.

FAQ:
**********************************************************************************
QUESTION: Is there a website?
ANSWER: Yes, http://www.melodiestomemories.com
QUESTION: Where can I find a list of songs to play?
ANSWER: Point your web browser at http://www.melodiestomemories.com/view.php
QUESTION: Who may I contact for a demonstration?
ANSWER: You can IM calmtommy Lowell, Bree Darling or Nokia Latrell in-world for a demonstration of the Jukebox.
QUESTION: Where can I buy one?
ANSWER: You can puchase one from SLExchange.com (search for Jukebox) or see calmtommy Lowell, Bree Darling or Nokia Latrell in-world to purchase it directly from a sales person.
QUESTION: How do I add a new authorized user to the juke authorization list?
ANSWER: Edit the jukebox and go to the contents tab. Find the file named "Pref:AuthorizedUsers". By default it contains a few names separated by line feeds/returns. You can simply add the names of any residents that you would like to authorize to send admin commands to your jukebox. Just scroll to the bottom of the file, press return, type a name, press return, type another name, etc :) Rinse and repeat for high levels of success.
QUESTION: I cannot edit the preference notecards in my jukebox! Why?
ANSWER: You may have already deeded the jukebox to a group that owns the land. You must take ownership of the jukebox again, edit the notecards, and then re-deed the jukebox. To accomplish this pick the jukebox up and then re-rez it :)
QUESTION: Why doesn't my playlist work?
ANSWER: You may not have added your name to the "Pref:AuthorizedUsers" notecard! Ensure that the person trying to add or play a playlist is actually authorized to do so.
QUESTION: I'm authorized to send admin commands, so why doesn't my playlist work?
ANSWER: Your playlist notecard may be formatted incorrectly, missing or perhaps named incorrectly. The playlist file must be named "Playlist#" where # is the playlist number you'll request. There should be no spaces and be careful of capitalization. The playlist file must be copied into the jukebox's contents - the jukebox cannot read directly a preference notecard from your inventory.
