A dream come true for calmtommy Lowell and Dolmere Talamasca, the Melodies to Memories Jukebox is a flexible audio control system for use in Second Life. This product allows streaming of songs using a playlist, all easily controlled by the juke's owner. Second Life limits the ability to change the media stream on land to either the land owner or officers of the group that land is owned by. You can use the Melodies to Memories Jukebox to allow any user to modify the land audio stream if you so desire - just add more users to your authorized users preference file!
To acquire a Jukebox for use on your land you can purchase one at SLExchange.com. For a demonstration in-world please contact calmtommy Lowell, Bree Darling or Nokia Latrell.
This jukebox music system is unique in Second Life in that you can choose your own music from a large and growing list of songs, and play them at will. No longer are you stuck listening to radio stations playing what they want! Now you can design and listen to your own unique play list.
You will choose your songs from a list that is kept current at the following website: http://www.melodiestomemories.com/view.php.
The songs are listed by Title, Type, Genre, and Performer, and each song simply has a number assigned to it (called the songID#). All you have to do is tell the M2M jukebox which song, by number, you wish to hear. It's that simple. You can also create your own list of songs that the jukebox will play for you automatically. This is done by putting the song numbers in a note card (creating your personalized play list), and then telling the M2M jukebox to read from that play list.
The M2M jukebox listens to your commands on Channel 6. To issue a command, simply speak the command on channel 6 followed by any optional arguments as outlined below. For those who may be unfamiliar with how to speak on a particular channel, simply precede any spoken text with "/6 ". This sends your typed message out thru channel six (which is not heard by the general public), where the M2M jukebox is listening for your commands. For example, to play a particular song, you would issue the following command on the chat line:
/6 play 51.
This will tell the M2M jukebox that you want to play song number 51, "A Boy Named Sue", by Johnny Cash.
